Supporting Big Emotions
Big feelings can be overwhelming — for children and for the adults supporting them.
This warm and practical parent webinar is designed to help parents better understand children’s emotional responses, behaviour, and regulation during times of stress, change, and everyday
challenges. Using the child-friendly “Yellow Brick Road” framework, the session explores how children experience emotions and how parents can respond in ways that help children feel safe,
connected, and supported.
Grounded in attachment-informed and neurobiological approaches, the webinar provides practical strategies that parents can use at home to support emotional regulation, resilience, and stronger
relationships.
Topics include:
Understanding why children experience “big emotions”
What behaviour may be communicating
Helping children regulate emotions safely and calmly
Supporting children through transitions and change
Building resilience, connection, and emotional confidence
Practical strategies parents can use at home immediately
Suitable for parents and carers of young children and primary school-aged children.
